Mushrooms before full colonization?!?!
    #871831 -

Hypothethically speaking,

If one were to grow mushrooms and they were colonizing nicely and then they slowed down before the bottom of the jars colonizes and little mushrooms started to grow, what would one do?? In the FAQ it says to not birth before FULL COLONIZATION but if a mushroom were 1-2 inches long and as thick as a pencil lead growing downward, will it rot and contaminate the jar??? Just gathering research for an essay. I searched for this question and didn't come up with anything. Thanks

If they're already fruiting, I would probably birth them, scrape off the uncolonized portions, and place them in the fruiting chamber. Next time, don't expose your colonizing jars to light until they're at 100%.

Peace
