My friend's intuition told him maybe moisture was low for the jars that weren't colonizing on the sides of the grain plastered to the inside of the glass jars. Soooo, he took a double thickness of paper towel and wetted it with H202 and water about 30%, wrung out the paper towels and placed them over the jars. They are open with 3 3/16 inch holes in the lids and in a tubby in the closet with HEPA 24/7. He also turned up the temp about 2 degrees from 82 to 84F. Within two hours the recalcitrant grains' sides were being colonized and a kind of ropey rhyzo was growing also around in the jar and on the inside of the glass. Like something out of sci fi. Hope it's good news.
