Just kind of anxious and curious. What the fastest full colonization time anyone has had and with what strain?

When ambient temps were at there best ......... From germination on agar , to strain selection on second agar dish , to inoced jars of grain , fully colonized in 2.5 to 3 weeks . The jars were fully done in 1.5 week . This was a strain of Thai , sub species was unknown . Keep those temps at 86*F , and it will be quick in most cases .

Dude, you have no idea, over this past month, I've lost all 50 jars (done at different times, with different subs.) to the wicked green. It just goes to show that I shouldn't be allowed to make my own syrniges... thank god for the little guy.

I inoculated some brf cakes in half pint wide mouth jars(the stubby ones) with some creeper on Saturday 11/9 and my most colonized is about 85-90% and the least is about 45-55%. The next day inocced some ecuadors, and they are about 65-70% and the least is 20-25%. If you already have some mycelium made or spores, you can make mycelium water and spawn from there. Then you won't have to keep buying syringes.

I have some PFC's I innoculated 6 days ago, and they are fully colonized in brown rice jars, except for a dime size area on the bottom.

The fastest I have had growth was from EQ's on BRF, in 40 hours in 3 different 1/2 pints. The fastest I've had full colonization was from EQ's on BRF in 1/2 pints. Full colonization reached in 11 days.

i've been getting most my jars 100% colonized at 10-15 days. Some just go faster than others. Using 50/50 verm/brf mix. Also, noticed that loosely packign the jars seems to speed up things a bit. Don't pack them, or tap them down.

I consistently have full colonization at a constant 85F with PR strain within 7 days. When I use stock syringes (ordered) takes about 10 to 14 days. I use 1cc per pint jar. I make my own syringes, using 1 syringe per diameter inch of spore print. My syringes are super dark purplish-black though, which is why I get such fast colonization times. PR's colonize very fast by nature, but when you can hardly see through the syringe because it is so dark with spores, it really helps things along. I do my prints in wide mouth half pint jars. Pop the casing open, open the sterilized half pint jar, pick the shroom, twist the cap off, gills down in the jar, tighten the lid, let it sit for 2 days, oven door, pop the lid off, squirt a syringe full of sterilized water in there, with a spoon scrape the spores off the bottom and mix it up, tilt the jar and suck the water back up. I believe I have few problems with contams because of the number of spores. They take off so fast they almost always beat out any contams that get mixed in there. At worst I get about 5% contamination, or 5 per 100 jars. Even those usually at worst I get a small dime or nickel sized spot of green and the rest of the jar is colonized, I just cut a good hunk of the cake out around spot of green and crumble the rest up into casing, and it always turns out fine. The key to guaranteed success, in my opinion, is making super concentrated spore syringes yourself. Super fast, super healthy, super strong.
