please help us ID this

we found it growing under a gate today. its very humid atm, and we had alot of rain last night. it was growing in dirt. smell is like normal eating mushroom. stem is 2.5 to 3 inches long. thanx very much, as we are not sure if it is a normal or psychadelic.

Is there any bruising? I don't see any in the photo. We also need to know about the spore print. How big are they (can't tell from the photos)?

My first thought from the photo (and it growing in dirt) is that it is a Coprinus. If it is, the gills have probably already started turning into inklike slime.

no obvious bruising, just goes a semi transparent/brown colour
the taller one is about 2.5 to 3 inches tall
and yes, the gills have gone all slimey :smile:

thanx very much for that ppls, johnshroom and i had found it and thought it was possible that it could be a gold cap. as we are both noobs, i looked up the type you gave us and found it wasnt the kind of shroom we were hopin for :tongue:

Definitely Coprinus, the turning to black goo is a dead give away.
