I think psilocybin/psilocyn are wonderful drugs. I believe they could possibly unlock some doors. However, you have to be cautious about distinguishing the difference between hallucination, the subjective experience, and reality. I find alot of people who have an "experience", and because they are looking so passionately for answers they "trap" themselves in the cell I think you might be talking about: A place that takes your mind off life's horrors. A sort of self-fulfilled prophecy.
I think your "holding cell" experience could be a metaphor for escape (for whatever reason).
You could say this opinion is closed minded of me, however I believe your experience could have some validity (anything is possible). But it also could not. My point is that you do not want to "open your mind" so much that you ultimately end up closing it (the "cell").
Open minded people must remain open minded. So while evaluating your past experience as true, make a sincere effort to evaluate it's false side. Perhaps this will set you free. Or maybe...I am just getting too old. : )

Thats a good point, its seems like many people are so desperate to find something more, that they brush logic aside and accept anything that feels good.
IMO people should stay away from psychedelics until they first learn discipline.
