Yea..
Dropping hits with your friends and philosiphizing about the universe.. seems like youve really found the answers to being happy for the rest of your life.
Everything is fine and dandy until you come to the crushing realization that you are very much a part of 'the system' no matter how liberated you feel your mind has become.. so you can either live in the woods like a hermit, or your forced to play the game..
and its sad.. so void of dignity

Maybe I'm weird, but I would rather be alone than be with people who I don't find interesting (but I've always been the introspective sort). Quirky people, those who go against the prevailing currents, are the ones who advance human society. Those that always fit in, that believe what 'everybody knows,' and laugh at the eccentrics because they're not 'with it,' are the mere backdrop of human drama, the blank canvas upon which greatness distinguishes itself.

Don't give them power by submitting. Yeah, maybe your weirdness will have to take a subtler form... but NEVER suppress it. You can't. It's wrong.

So you have dress code... so what?
I bet it says nothing about wearing different colored shoes... or obnoxiously ugly ties... or holey pants... or shirts with lipstick on the collar... or a bright green belt...
You get the idea.
Get your hands in as many different projects as possible. That way, if your weirdness becomes unacceptable, it would be a burden to fire you.

Maybe it's like Huxley said. Your brain has a "reducing valve" which limits the amount of "God" or "everything" that your brain has access to.

Maybe you've pulled in more complex truths than you're able to deal with right now. Yeah, just chill out for a while.

Walk into a McDonalds at noon on a weekday. Walk to a corner near a cash register. Cluck like a chicken and act like you are trying to lay an egg.
If this makes you feel uncomfortable, then you haven't left all that much social conditioning behind. Another one to try. Get in an elivater: after the doors close look at whoever is in there, smile evily, and begin to give an insane lauph.
If you don't find other peoples conditioned responses humerous, then you are still socialy intact for the most part

I felt exactly like you, and still have troubles. My problem is that I got lost thinking I knew the truth, but I realize I still have so much social conditioning, I see through peoples games and are a lot more smarter and aware, but I still am not at the level where I can't see how to escape it. I say keep up the spiritual voyaging, and learn how to play the game of life to its fullest. If you feel trapped you are not liberated, you probably just got glimpses, learn how to catch more of those glimpses, and intergrating your knowledge into daily life. I still get angry and annoyed at those around me, I have to learn compassion.

I go off and on. Some days im sick o f the bullshit, and want to reach god thourgh projections of my mind, etc, etc. Then I want to be normal. What is wrong with drinking beer, getting fat and stupid, and remaining ignorant. Ignorance is bliss. However the fact remains that you know how to think outside the box, and you cant unlearn it. You may be able to take up small, less significant things in the world, but you are still a big thinker, you will find your place once again.

It's true...you can be too smart Oh, so true! So true! I feel this way everyday. My brain is constantly swirling with crazy thoughts about myself, the world, the universe, etc. And the majority of my thoughts and beliefs go very much against the status quo and the mainstream political currents. I see so much ignorance around me in society, and I often find myself thinking, "Am I the only person in this world who has any clue at all?" But I can rarely successfully relate my thoughts into spoken word, and when I do nobody seems to understand and they just brush me off and shut me down. It's very frustrating sometimes, so I often find myself keeping quiet and just going with what others are doing. This gives other people the impression that I'm shallow and/or just stupid. This simply is just not true! I just gotta find the balls to take some action on my thoughts, and stand up for my beliefs. Easier said than done though...

im with you people... i get to hear the word "freak" at least a few times a week... and some of the people i work with think that i am in scientology or some other fanatic religious organisation, because of my radical view and take on existance... so i know where your coming from... i had a 5 day nightmare on dxm myself more than a year ago... haven't tripped, smoked weed or done any other drug since... and i must say i feel good... the knowledge drugs gave me, especially shrooms and lsd is very important to me... but i was learning to fast... now i take my time, meditate, read and evolve at a rate i feel comfortable with... sometimes i have a little anxiety, maybe even insomnia, but it's nothing other people don't have to deal with... anyways one thing i know for sure... whatever happens i don't care how people look at me, and how against the stream and the system i may be, i will always be myself, and i will always pursue the highest version of the most magnificent vision i ever held about myself... cuz thats what i came for... and if beeing who i am shocks some people, but afterwards makes them think for themselves, the better yet... remember...
betrayal of yourself in order to not betray someone else is betrayal nonetheless... it is the highest betrayal

Cosmic Monkey made a very significant point. Do not ignore it.

He said that caffeine causes anxiety attacks and he is right. Caffeine is a subtle killer and more people die from it each year than they do from mushrooms. There is a book about it called, "Caffeine Blues".

Try a fun experiment. Give up all caffeine for a week and see how you feel. Try it and report back.
