I read Killa420's post about being busted and it got me thinking about the laws in UK and US. In UK the only offense involving shrooms is preparing them for consumption or extracting psilocybin. Can anyone explain exactly what the laws in US are? If you can be busted for shrooms then the killjoy goverment needs to rethink their whole policies and respect us as a legitimate part of the nation. Spread the word.

It is a felony in the US to "manufacture" shrooms...
State laws vary...
Respect us as a legitimate part of the nation?
1 in 32 US adults is in the "correctional" system...

well basicly the us blows.....some places even the spores are illegal (california and georgia i believe)

i beleave everything about growing mushrooms is illegal except for looking at spores under a mircroscope. and then in cali and i beleave gerorgia haveing spores is illegal. And i'm pretty sure it's a felony.

In the US possession (in any form or quantity) of psilocin or psilocybin is a Federal felony. They are both Schedule 1 controlled substances. I don't think there are any states in which it is not a felony. This, of course, extends, to possession of the mushrooms. The spores do not contain psilocin or psilocybin, so they avoid being illegal, except where some states have decided to change things. In most places, possession of more than a certain amount also qualifies for charges of dealing, which is where you can potentially look to be very old before they let you out of some ass-pounding prison, especially since they did all the mandatory minimum sentencing laws back in the 80s.
