Lighting for Bud

Where is the best place to get a light. I want a 1000 or maybe 600 watt dual mh/hps ballast, and a good fan cooled hood, plus bulbs and all.

Are there no hydro shops in the city you live in? If not then do a search on the net and compare prices but I am always leary about using a credit card to buy anything weed related. I have a 1000w MH light with a fan cooled hood and everything together cost about $350 Cdn. The bulb will be an additional 80 or 90 bucks depending on brand and in the case of MH, I highly suggest you get what's called an "HPS conversion" bulb as well for the flowering stage so that will be an added expense. With the hood I had to go get the aluminum tubing and fan seperate and rig it all up myself, nothing comes complete from the hydro shop, it's always bare bones. One thing that's VERY important is to get 4" insulated aluminum tubing and not that plastic shit. You need the metal stuff because the plastic stuff cannot keep the heat contained and it all ends us radiating back into the room which kind of defeats the purpose.

Im searching half a year in lightning shops in BG and most of them dont know what a hPS lamp is
But I think Ive seen on some places
If someone posts a pic of such lamp ill be greatful

My buddy found some 400 HPS for 99 bucks at a well known home/hardware supply store. Multi-tap and all. Complete kit.
They were sold with the outdoor lights and other light accessories.
Actually he got lucky and found two. Now hes a very happy man.
I think the name of the store was......casa.....somethinoranother

i was really just hoping, someone knew where to get a good deal, online is sketchy but i have a safe house(as in a seperate house), so... i'll do it.... Now with that said, Anyone know where to get a good deal on some lighting. Also anyone using a 1000w just how hot does that bitch get

Streets lights, the blue colored ones are metal halide, the red kind are high pressure sodium. If your brave, take a saw or something and knock one down, and jack the balast and light, be carefull though, high voltage. And some of the places run the lamps off of 220 volts instead of the 110 that most places sell. Just fyi

what about those backup security lights found in apartment buildings and schools. the ones with the 2 round lights ontop of a metal box. Would those work? it be much easier to steal one of those than a street lamp

Those are normal lights, if i'm thinking of the same thing you are. Like when the power goes out they switch on and shit, they're regular flood type lights, not too much of anything specific, not any kind of metal vapor like Na or Hg, just shit.
