Check out Ebay, people sometimes unload their grow setups there when they upgrade their equipment or stop growing.

Sunmaster 250 watt HPS, a great light that puts out nearly twice the lumins of a MH lamp over the same square feet.. Expect no more than 9, 2-3 foot plants under a 250 watt lamp, 6 plants being ideal..Sea of green using flourescents to vegitate and the HPS to flower would give you a half ounce to an ounce a week idealy...

If you are looking on ebay search for a diamond aluminarc lamp. most are the same price it's what you want thant matters...Larger lights are usually around the same cost, but they put out so much heat is is not usable in a closet area...You can Also go to overgrow.com if you want to find the best bang for the buck...I say go sunmaster and use the keep it simple stupid grow method.........

luminarc i believe, not alumenarc. home depot also sells 70-150 watt hps lights, for security lighting, which is easily modifiable, inexpensive, and can be bought locally (no worrys about shipments and credit cards). figure what space you need and then the light/watt requirements... the home depot lights can be used in a very small space efficiently. im looking to set up an orchid/berry garden, and ill post any "good" pricing i find on lights. growsystems.com has good prices, but not the watts youre looking for. ebay has a lot of bare-bones ballast kits, and if youre a handman type, you could build your own refletor for cheap as well...
