Starting up a World of Warcraft account..

So, going against all the millions of reasons why not to, I've decided to create a World of Warcraft account. I bought the game online and it is in the mail right now.

Anyone interested in joining me?

I played WoW alot longer than I should have. Played hardcore for almost 4 years. I met some great people and had alot of fun but the game definitely wears you down. 4-5 days a week, 6 hours a day just devoted to raiding (almost all somewhat hardcore guilds will require the same) and then on top of all those raid hours you were still expected to put in time grinding for money and supplies.

The game is definitely fun but if you ever plan on getting into the raiding scene, I suggest you go for a laidback guild.

Just use heroin instead. At least 5 years down the line you will have stories people will actually care about, and during those 5 years you will still probably have more of a social life.

I remember my brother played. I watched and tried for a bit and realized it was extraordinarily boring. I couldn't find one thing that was fun in the entire game. And this is coming from a guy who enjoys an occasional rpg. Its really a bad game.

Dont get me wrong, playing wow was one of the funnest things ever, just not enough time in a day to play anymore.

i don't get it. Whats so appealing about the game? Why did you personally enjoy it? My brother said he found it boring and just wanted to "level up" even the though the process was tedious and uninteresting.

Well I think you get a month free with the game, so I'll try it out and see what I think.

The thing that catches you in wow is the endgame imo. 40 man raids back in the day was hella fun

It gets fun at the end of the game when you are teaming up with 25 people and taking down huge monsters. It was extremely fun for a while and I met a lot of great people, but I got worn down eventually

hell yeah they were, they seem to me at least to be harder than the 25 man raids right now.

wow is a great time killer and a great way to save money (keeps you entertained for several hours a night) that is my main reason for playing. i also play with probably 10-12 i know in real life, so that keeps it interesting as well. 1-60 sucks, but 60-70 is a lot of fun actually. and yes, the endgame is def. what you look forward to, i play to PvP so my end game is gonna be different than most.

I'm a casual player, I quit every few months, start playing for a few months, then quit again.

yea i played for a long time... almost disgustingly addictively at times. my grades suffered greatly in my sophomore year of highschool because of it... it was sad.

its definitely a great game, no way of denying that, but the problem with it is, how good you are/how fun it is ALL depends on HOW MUCH YOU PLAY.

so if you're ready to throw your life away, it'll be fucking fantastic of a game, probably one of the best.

but if you're playing casually, dont' even bother.

really... i don't know the game content iw as into was the whole raid thing and they had freakin mandatory attendance on like 70% of the raids and you had to spend your own time doing other shit.

maybe if i had taken a more laid back playing route...

who knows, good thing i'm done

hows BC going? i dropped out right after they released Black Temple
