I agree. It will not take much to topple the world economy."dooms day" isnt going to be a meteor or anything of that nature.I think it will be somthing more likely and forseable. You have to be blind not see how bad of a state we are in.Society is ridiculous,we depend on everyone else to keep us alive. Most people put everything in the hands of an unseeable thing they call god.The rest they leave to the government. If a person isnt able to go to the grocery store and drink water from a plastic bottle, the world is surely doomed.

Can anyone post some ways to purify water without using a store bought camping filter or somthing like that?Could you use charcoal from a spent fire to create a makeshift filter.Use that along side boiling the water.

Atleast you wont have to worry about stuff like clorine and floride being in your water.Just intestinal parasites.yay

Fair enuff.

O.K. where were we. Oh yes, resource production. I think the we would do well to obtain some survivalist books. If anyone has any digital ones, please link to them.

We would need ongoing programs of farming, hunt/fishing, clothing making, weapons making, medicine, water, and droogs.

Music too, shit all the music is gonna be gone!!!  :mad2:

We'll have to make instruments and have some sort of ghetto band.

You can distill water with solar stills, then boil it for 20 minutes if that's thought nescessary.

You can even put vegetation in them and get the water out.

guitars, spoons, bongos and shit

but if you are talking survival, that stuff would be pretty low on the list to pack around with you.

There are a lot of good things on that kit list. I would probably get 50x the suggested quantities. There are many things not on the list that would be good too. I'm going to put together a comprehensive, long-term survival kit designed to last into the following generations and beyond and give the ability to create a realistic, sustainable community in completely natural conditions. With a detail plan for continuity.

I think a good assortment of heavy steel non-power tools such as axes, knives, hoes, shovels, and the like would be essential.

the montana idea wont work.  unless u hide.  as long as roads are open poople will spread everywhere.  that reminds me, poop will become very valuable.... dry it out to get rid of parasites and aids, just aim ur bunghole onto a dry rock and let it sit in the sun for a couple weeks.

then voila put it back in the garden. get good viable seeds of Kale (packed w/vitamins) and spinach (good for cold weather, total protein)
1knife 1 hatchet 1 shovel.  to make some good farmland, just cut a ring around the trees bark to kill the tree, leave it standing and climb up it with ropes to cut off the small branches (good for emergency fireword as they dry quick) and just plant seeds under the trees.  moving huge trunks requires lots of poeple/energy, or machines.  the trees will just dry up and be firewood.  careful of coniferous forests (trees without leaves) as pine needles are acidic and make farming difficult.  not sure, maybe lime would do the trick. not too much.  hmmm, you'd need some way to live thru the winter as spinach doesnt last long. kale grows well past all other crops but wont grow north of probably 30degrees latitude all year.  oregon gets kale all year, at least till xmas.  thats basic farming.

remember theres tons of ppl with guns and the deer are gonna be shot quickly. i suggest getting farming operation set up in the mountains before its too late. you need at least 1 year to prepare land for farming or else u wont have enuf time to build good shelter. think of the pilgrims, if the indians didnt help, and still most of them died. global warming is gonna fuck up the weather so be prepared. if you have grains beans, ANY KIND OF SEED, learn now how to sprout. you can live on id quess 50 beans a day if you sprout. cooking destroys the protein... think about it, your burning the food! cooking=burning.  the energy is supposed to "burn" itself in your cells.

like i said, sprout, but if you cant sprout (it takes a few days www.sproutpeople.com) then have a mortar and pestle and grind it up. (EDIT remember you can sprout almost any seed except black beans (posionous, im getting that u might be able to clean these off as the poison is in the shell, i think) that means grass seeds, rice, any seed at all! almonds... just add water and u can live off these tasty filling treats. if u eat just the unsprouted seeds you are wasting food cuz just one man's supply of seeds can feed a wife and 2 kids, just about. think about it) end edit

think of all the big chunks u have in ur shit if you dont completely cook your beans, (try lentils, if you dont cook ur food for 2 hours u dont digest it completely) if you grind them into powder u dont hafta cook, just mix with a little water, but not too much cuz water washes away stomach acid- 2 rocks will work.  u can live without fire below canada, pretty much.  have some wool blankets and dig a hole hobbit style.  sprouts are good with protein and give u TONS OF ENERGY and make u feel great.

id forget about drugs and alcohol, try meditation

hmmm what else. i could right pages.

now, when do we plan to do this? im thinking this summer. really, its gonna come so quick that as soon as u know its time to go theres no way ur gonna get a flight out the country and roads would need to be 25 lanes wide to handle all the cars on the roads!  id say get a sailboat and head to alaska or canada or africa, SA might work. bring some ganja to give to the locals and they might even not steal your sprouts! head anywhere third world and GIVE THEM ALL UR CRAP and pray ur allowed to have some food, otherwise ull most definitely get robbed. the longer u wait the worse it will be.

im not looking forward to leaving family but they dont listen

oh yeh, listen to the bible.  all these precautions might be considered a lack of faith. God says "you will be rewarded according to your work".  if you havent heard of miracles they are true! and if you are worthy you will live no matter what, and if ur sposed ta die, you will no matter what. but maybe some who arent totally evil and are lucky will actually benefit from these tips, so thahts why i write them

I would gear up in chain maile, swords, knives, and even my pistol.
I know how to stay alive in the woods around here. Shelters in the river rock beds out of the rain, fresh mushrooms to eat YEAR AROUND( if the rain comes) as well as already knowing all the local edible plants.
You would find me in the hills around the chatahoocie river.
Now, from this point it would be a matter of stockpiling food, and creating a defense, or lack thereof.
When I Say lack of a defense, I mean being SO HIDDEN that you don't need defenses.
When I ran out of ammo, I could rely on my archery skills to take down deer, and my cooking skills to dry and smoke the meat.
My armour( and strong build with quick reflexes) would make me foremost in combat, because war would be reverted to medieval, where such things as plate mail have applicable combat terms.
Soon as the ammo is gone, kings are made.
However. This won't happen, any time soon. Let's just say I am ALREADY ready for this, and hope it to happen, any time soon.

if you are cooperative, like living with people u trust only 5knives/100 people is needed, 10 shovels, 3 axes.

kale is a collard, all collards r good
dont waste time with anything u dont need. the food will taste the same every day.

if anybody tried to stop eating the food they usually eat who is used to it, they really really dont like it. the brain is used to it and they dont like it. think about when you eat mushrooms and you are desireless, thats what u gotta be. not getting what u want HURTS but it goes away eventually. its called tapas in india. austerity. you will have to face this inner fire in order to not suffer the ultimate consequence.

you can live off of lentil bean sprouts. im pretty sure. lentils and kale and spinach is plenty to survive i think. catch a fish or plant some potatoes or milk a cow and ur set. this is like 100 hours of work/year to get all ur food.
dont waste the extra 120938 years fucking every 10 seconds as there wont be much else "to do" in our sensual mindset. however, i again suggest going beyond your senses. read up on meditation and try it out. buy "be here now" by ram dass, the last secion tells how to live spiritually. it gives yoga instruction. body work (hatha yoga) raja yoga, dyana, karma yoga, every yoga ud ever need. the book is not important if you know how to look inside yourself. but your gonna have lots of free time and ifyou waste all ur energy looking for tasty roots or berries or fucking your gonna die a quick death. after a while things will chill and you can make an excursion to cities and make a solar powered cd player and import some soil and maybe hole up in an abandoned building and gather wood. it would get better each year at one point. assuming the weather/disease doesnt kill you. but this is all unreal anyway! im just gonna meditate and hope to go to heaven before this happens and watch from above

although uncooked vegetables are healthier than cooked, what about uncooked meat.A fire is necessay. You need a fire to make your wooden weapons and tools stronger. The thought of not needing a fire south of canada is ridiculous. It gets extremely cold in the southern united states as well.

If you still plan to eat meat,a fire would be necessary to make the meat taste good and to kill off bacteria and contams.

I also have a very strong and sharp combat sword from the World War Two Navy. No doubt I would have to kill people with it. Sad but true when the 'end' comes, and we are forced to live, like humans did soooo long ago, that war WILL break out.
Power is with food, food is with power, and well, a sword is about a powerful as it gets( after the ammo runs out)
I only have two shot guns, a pistol, and about 1000 rounds
The forests would be cleared very soon. All the edible plants would soon be gone, thus proper storage and drying of food becomes a necessity.
Living by a river is key.
bottom line is, that EVENTUALLY, we would need to band together with TEAM WORK to survive.
Build houses, store food, watch each others back.
The struggle for power and the nature of man will emerge.

Food will be so scarce, that women will beg men to give them blowjobs, just for some of that healthy man juice.
Sperm will be the new crack
