Need advice from fellow MCs

Ok... got a couple of questions that I would appreciate a reply to.

Well... I've been "researching" for a while, but lately I feel a little off for some reason.

.... Let's say that I have a 22QT pressure cooker right?..... I want to sterilize 16 Pints in it.... I stack 8 on bottom and 8 on top. I've tried different sterilization times, but what is the best amount of time to sterilize these for at 15psi., without burning them or understerilizing them. And also, what's the correct amount of water to put in the PC. ???

....My second question,.... I know some of you have tried adding a little bit of hydrated lime to your substrate. Let's say the basic rice and verm substrate for jars.
Does this help reduce risk of contamination? what are the benefits?
and what is the amount/ratio of hydrated lime to add to the substrate?

lime is for PH i think.

you add enough water to come to about 1/3rd of the way up the bottom set of jars. be sure to put them all on a small towellete.
the steam does most of the work i think...

you can read most of this in the basic mushroom growers guide in the Grow/Find section... this is not an Advanced Mushroom CUlt. forum question....
