first time halp and advice

Here we go... This all for my first time. I inoculated 24 jars of brown rice flour/vermiuclite with P.C. Thailand-Koh Samui 10 days ago. So far all jars are showing growth with no signs of contamination. I have now decided to build two terrariums, one for most of the cakes and the other for casing. I will be using an ultrasonic humidifier to humidify both tereriums. I have been looking around and there seems to be some kind of back and forth about using hydrated lime vurses limestone. the limestone seems less likely to screw up so I think I will go with the 50/50+ substituting limestome for lime. My first question is how much lime stone (or a whole better recipe for the casing for this strain). My second question is in a best case scenario, if I only grew from the cakes and all 24 were to fruit, what is the most I could expect to harvest in dry weight? And lastly, is there anything I need to know about picking the shrooms? Do i pull them out or cut them out? And where does one purchase coco coir (and would that be better to use with the strain, and if so what would the recipe for the casing be?) And just in general does anyone have advice for me or something I should be keeping in mind? That was more questions than I wanted to ask. Thanks in advance to who ever takes the time to help. Peace. pickledcitrus

I don't know much about what happens when one uses a casing layer ,but if one has cakes ,slicing the stems near the base is the best way to go.

Sounds like you're on your way... As for lime, buy the stuff with the low magneisum levels...(2% or below). Im not too sure on the exact measurements, because I personally have never used it, but Id think youd see it on the 50/50 + page. Coco coir is the way I do my casings. The mycelium literally rips through the stuff, and has been good for me. You can buy coir at any garden store...(or so I thought), and it is pre-sterilized. I usually sterilize anyways just to be safe. You can also buy it at any hydroponics store. As for coir, just put a little layer on the bottom, and a layer on top, with nothing in it, and it will work fine

Foaf , has been using crushed oyster shells mixed in with the 50/50,, her casings do great , no problems yet . Hydrated lime seems a bit messy and can damge things if not used right , oyster shells are found in the bird section of pet stores.
