A couple of months ago I tried mushrooms for the first time. 1.5g cubensis, mixed with lemon juice on a relatively empty stomach.
I understand now that a trip can go really bad quite easily if youre not careful. I felt very vulnerable and emotional. I wasnt scared tough - just very exposed, and it felt as if something unexpected would happen, I would just instinctively panic. I also felt that I would believe anything anyone said. If someone had come up to me and said that I was THE problem of mankind I wouldve probably believed it.
I had prepared my evening. I had turned off my cellphone, bought some good things to eat and drink and I had appropriate music queued up in my playlist. A friend came over as a sitter, the candles were lit, the music started and the evening begun. It was awesome!
The first thing that happened was a weird feeling in my throat - as if I was nauseous, but not exactly. I quickly realized I would get nauseous for real if I continued thinking about it. So I stopped and it went away. The next thing was uncontrollable giggling/laughter and tears. I think everything was funny because I was excited and nervous - and slightly paranoid. Paranoid because my sitter was sober and I felt that in me. I couldnt really relax so I tried to act controlled - which was stupid because it only made me more uncomfortable. At first I felt uncomfortable moving around because I tried to fight the feeling to just go with the flow. My body tried to move to the music and I tried to control myself. After realizing this, and that my paranoia was irrational, I tried to relax and just let myself be and the uncomfortable feeling went away instantly.
And then, everything became more...real. My periphery vision noticed everything. The surroundings became more warm and all movements, even the slightest ones, became apparent. And the space itself seemed more...expanded. I walked around a bit, testing my "new super powers", looking at things, touching things. I was just baffled by the whole new world around me. Everything was different. I kept telling my sitter that "it surely must suck to be in your world right now".
Every once in a while I found myself having problem breathing and at the same time the surroundings stopped "living". This was when one song ended and it became quiet for a couple of seconds I realized that the music controlled the trip in a way I couldnt dream of. It was amazing. This was also the evening I was introduced to Murcof by my friend. Amazing music even when sober!
Later we went for a walk. It felt more as if my sitter took me out for walk tough I was a kid again, I rediscovered the entire world. I placed everything into two categories: mechanical, and natural. All mechanical things was boring, strictly linear and predictable. Everything mechanical is also unable to evolve. If you want to make a mechanical thing better you will have to destroy it and start from scratch. In contrast, everything natural was beautiful, alive, and able to evolve into perfect efficient systems. I placed almost everything man-made into the mechanical category and ignored it. It was utterly boring to even look at it. Everything in the natural category was astonishing. The sky, the trees, the animals (humans) all was alive and I could feel their stories flowing into me. I felt that "I finally found the place that Ive been searching for" and everything in life became clearer.
It was really cold outside but I couldnt feel it. I was euphoric and never wanted this to end. Thats when it hit me that it indeed would end and it scared me a little. Eventually I told myself that, in order for this to be a good experience I will have to take all these good feelings and remember them, learn from them and make my sober mind a healthier place to be. It worked! The next-day-depression didnt come. The extra feeling of happiness lasted a week, and I still feed from the experience.
It was a mind blowing experience. I felt cheated by the government for making this illegal and I definitely will do this again.
