Aeroponic vegetable growth?
    #8221485 -

I'm fascinated by the premise of aeroponics and I love me some vegetables, so I thought I'd experiment over the summer with growing some vegetables in a homemade indoor aeroponic setup and comparing them to outdoor soilgrown.

So, does anyone have any good resources for aeroponic growing that they could share? As in many ways similar to hydroponics, any good hydro vegetable resources would be cool, too.

I plan on picking up a book (so any recommendations for a good book are always appreciated).

Just thought I'd post on here and see if anyone had some advice or links. Cheers!

look up hydroponic tomatoes, theres an extreme wealth on them
hydro/aeroponics is usually used for *ahem* herbs, tomatoes are one of the most common vegetable used though

Ironically, I have no interest in growing *ahem* herbs. I just like vegetables and am a bit of a science nerd. I was honestly surprised when I started searching for information on aeroponics and kept getting results telling me how to grow dank bud in closets and cellars. ...But I definitely consider aeroponics' applicability in other fields of growth as further incentive to hone my skills.

Thanks for the head's up about hydroponic tomatoes, it helped yield a lot more pertinent hits in a google search.

It's too bad that overgrow is gone. That was an awesome resource for all things hydroponic/aeroponic and there were even several all vegetables grows on there.

Experience has taught me that aeroponic really isn't worth the investment compared to hydroponic. Aeroponic systems are expensive, difficult to maintain (clogging of atomizers whether ultrasonic or nozzle based), and finicky. As far as hydroponic vegetables, peppers and tomatoes (grow an heirloom variety) are both good candidates, but peppers seem to fruit faster than tomatoes. Basil is also another good candidate.
