The guy who brought us 2001: A Space Odyssey, communication satellites and space elevators (well not quite yet). Died this morning, age 90 :sad:

i saw his pic in the paper and he looked like an arrogant old bastard, all he is known for is 2001,at least he lived in india or someplace for like 20 years i,ll give him that

All he is known for TO YOU may be 2001, but to science fiction aficionados he is known as one of the greatest authors of the 21st century.

for those of you who dont know, 2001: Odyssey has three sequels set in 2010, 2061 and 3001. They're all worth reading.

clarke is among the best if you like to read sci fi, i liked all of his books that ive read

2001 the movie is really trippy too, watched that shit on many drugs
