Do you think I would be bitching if I could fuckin drive myself.
I am from BC in the fraser valley, aka shroomville.I actually got out today.My brother actually lent me his car.I cant beleive it( if you read my what a bad fuckin day thread a month ago you would know what I mean.)So I am happy now I finally got to hunt one last time.

We should all have one big shroomfest up here in bc next year! Really, I think it sounds like a good idea. I have a car(in the shop right now) and I could attend it. Where should we hold it? We should try for an area with a great abundance of species. How about on the island? I live there, and it has many differnt spots to hunt. Even some azurescens over here that I know of.

There is Azures on the Island? Awesome!!!!I thought they were strictly Oregon based.I always wondered if they would be in BC too.Shroomfest sounds good,either the Island or mainland.We should make it happen!! ------------------

There WERE some azurescens in the uvic campus this year, but I cant garantee it next year. They seem to be pretty transient in their appearances. It would be awesome to have a shroomfest anywhere, but mainly I say on the island because I live here. PS: If we hold it in the fall I cant show you my outdoor cubensis patch![This message has been edited by Dan (edited December 10, 1999).]

hehehe shroomfests are cool hehehe....
you people up there near seattle(my brother and my aunt both live up there) seem to somehow rally together and meet up to go pickin. thats pretty nice ya know. people here in florida dont really do that...which is sort of a shame..cause during the summer those Cubensis',,,man those cubes are JUST THE BEST! really they(in my honest opinion, just cannot be beat) are just the ultimate of all mind alterators(mushroom alterators). So anywho, alot of people living in florida take it for granted and i probably dont have a damn clue about what im talking about but i just love to find mushrooms. nw residents obviously have a fantastic variety of mushrooms! i have been up nw b4 when eyes was little ya know...but i am most intrigued with finding magic mushrooms in a big green forest with pine and evergreeen trees..which to me sounds to be the ultimate conditions for forageing.....as opposed to me, tromping around in a big pile full of cow crap. Dont get me wrong, i have grown to be mystifyed by the cow...(when you really take a good look at them in the eyes you can see something very special).Thats my own little piece of input from a different part of the globe about nothing that specifically pretanes to anything this post was originally about in the first place.

Well,lets get planning this gathering then. Somewhere around Vancouver, I think would be the best place. The Island would be cool, but It's just so expensive to get over there. If we did it around mid October, we could check out the Vancouver Mycological Society Mushroom Show and it would also be good time for picking.

True, the ferries are a tad bit expensive. I think that around vancouver sounds good, but I have no source of money myself to get over there. I think that maybe there should even be 2 separate shroomfests: one on the island, and one on the mainland. This would work best for people in both places, but I dont know about when in the yaer. The cyans here only started to come up real good just after halloween, so mid-october would be a big dissapointment this year. I think the problem is that here it gets really hot and dry during the summer, amking it hard for established beds of mycelium to withstand the hot, dry climate.
