New Outdoor patch cased with soil... I need help

Ok. I just made a new HUGE and DEEP outdoor patch made with horse poo, and spawned from a Moe's Flower Pot Tech cake, then cased with soil. I was just wondering how thick the casing layer should be, or really how thick CAN it be. I have had a sucessful outdoor patch with horse poo and cased with vermiculite, and im confident that this will work out as well, IF i case it correctly. I am in doubt because i think that it will be really hard for the pins to pop through the soil, because soil, over time, gets a lot more compact than vermiculite. Am i paranoid? Should i watch my ass? Am i dumb? Whatever the case may be, i would really appreciate a response.

I appreciate your advice, i really do... makes me a lot more confident, but there is one flaw. The soil isnt potting soil. It is natural soil that was dug outta the hole used for the bed. Still going to be rhyzomorphic? or however u spell that.
