Cal Poly is a great school and often not really looked at, SLO is a great town close to the water too!

I went there for two years and wouldn't reccomend it to anyone on these forums. You're not a nerdy asian who likes to visit his parents on the weekends, are you? Only go there if you're serious about school and not much else.
