For CS the schools in california go in this order:
Stanford/Berkeley depending on who you talk to, though I think Berkeley does better research. After that you have Caltech probably with UCLA and maybe San Diego up next. San Diego has a really nice computing center, so maybe its equal with ucla really. USC is eh.

As a proud alumni I have to say--if you're not into drunken, vapid chicks, football, frats, OR "Film" then I'd recommend looking elsewhere.  Not much of a psychedelic scene there at all.  Though when I was a senior I finally found some kids that were all into 2C-I and acid and jamming--they had a big apartment in the ghetto filled with speakers and instruments--but then I graduated like 2 months later and moved away :rolleyes:

anyway USC kinda sucked to go to as an a-social, deep thinkin, psychedelic takin, dead listenin, independent thinkin', person.  YMMV

Humboldt State University.

Both conscious universities with nice campuses
