Alternatives to College

So I'm just looking for some suggestions here. And I don't mean like "Go to community college!" or "Take online classes!" I'm about 100% confident I'm wasting my time and my father's money being here right now. Just looking some good ideas, something to help me get on my feet and live independently for possibly a few years. I'm hoping some people here might have some ideas that I haven't come up with or read about yet.

if I wasn't in college - I'd move to another country and start from scratch. that's just me and that's what i plan on after i'm done with school anyway. you could take up an apprenticeship - or peddle weed - or sell kitchen cutlery. The question is, what do you want to do in life - and is college going to help you do that. If not, then don't go.

Get into more drugs or you could kick it up to H and live in a pipe under a bridge and go to the library and go to OTD on weekdays and the bar and get some goose on weekends.

yeah dude I have to agree that's a pretty worthless statement. though i've seen plenty of stupid people thinking "well shit, i don't know what i want to do in life so i'll just go study law or medicine - i hear that makes lots of money and money makes me happy so yay - i'm a stupid, stupid motherfucker - please punch me in the teeth "

Seems like your best bet is to learn a trade.
If I could do all my schooling over again I'd be a certified nurse anesthetist. In total, it's about 7 years, but starting salaries are about 150K.

open a business it doesn't have to be a storefront you can have an online business
get an internship, apprenticeship
just get a job and slowly move up the business ladder
there are a lot of things to do besides college but having a degree under your belt definitely helps in the long run and making a living with just a high school diploma now a days is hard work

If you're confident in your abilities then [stay in college] put together a portfolio of your work. Whatever it is that you're really good at, put examples and cite references in a big folder and at your job interview explain that you've been doing that type of work since you were young and that you're an autodidact (self taught). If they like your stuff, they'll hire you. You won't make as much as someone with a degree but you'll definitely land the job.
Good luck!

Just get a normal 'low paying' job (which is still high paying by world standards) and learn to enjoy life with that income.
College wont make you happy, and it wont make you rich (automatically). Its a useful tool if you have a particular passion, thats all.
If you need to get financially independent right away, get a tip job. Single moms raise their kids off of that money. You cant afford the luxuries many americans think are necessities, but you can afford a one bedroom apartment and an old used car for sure. I was able to be 100% financially independent with a pizza driving job at age 18. One bedroom apartment, gas in the tank, and even a bad of schwagg once and a while. Good living

get into a career where experience is worth more than a degree. I'm telecom and right now if someone less experienced but with a degree applies for the same position i do, i'd be more likely to get the job.
of course, my soul dies a little each time I see my cubicle.

when i dropped out of college i started to translate books & publishing them by my own publishing house. it has no major income except it pays for the printing costs but it's something i've been interested in doing and it's been fun so far. this also gives me some good stuff to write on my CV in the future.
find something you love to do & discover how to make money off it.
