Drill 100-200 1/4 inch holes throughout all six sides of your FC.

Yup, all six sides. You can cut the top out of another like tub, and use it as a table/run-off rez. Leave enough of the lid of the second tub to hold up your FC.

Drill them on all 6 sides, the bottom, the sides, the top. Perlite needs FAE to work properly, and your FC needs FAE to trigger pinning and help fight contams that prefer stagnate air.

Every 2-4 inches is preferred.

5 inches of damp well drained perlite with plenty of FAE is the preferred low tek. Your Rh should stay as close to 99% as possible at all times.

You may still need to mist though, so get a fine misting spray bottle, or an ultra sonic mister for periodic re-hydrations.

Search the forum archives for Shotgun FC.

You can tube an ultra sonic into a Shotgun FC, and if you get a good repeat cycle timer, you can set the mister for 1 minute on, 15 minutes off, or whatever you need to maintain constant FAE and near 99% Rh at all times.

It doesn't have to be 100-200 at all Just make plenty and you will be okay.. Don't over do it...Or then youll have RH problems.

co2 is heavier then oxygen right?so it usually collects in the bottom...does this mean i should put the holes right above where the perlite is?

Drill holes as described. CO2 isn't enough heavier that it will 'drain' out holes in the bottom. You want lots of holes so there can be constant fresh air.
