What might the role of psychedelic use in western medicine mean for our culture and society?? What effect might this have on concepts such as spirituality and organized religion?? Is this important to you??

I think it would be wonderful for hallucinogens to have a place in modern medicine. There are so many people who tell stories about how dramatically their lives have been altered and their mindsets improved through just a single psychedelic experience - many of us have stories of our own.

Unfortunately it's just such taboo subject in this land that all we can hope for now is that hallucinogenic drugs be tested and that the results continue to be positive. Like any other drug used in medicine, there may be a possibility of adverse reactions in some subjects, and I worry that that might be all it takes for B.B. to say NO.

If it were used in mainstream medicine, in time perhaps it might become to be more widely understood and accepted which, needless to say, would be absolutely one of the most wonderful things ever.

It is impossible to say what effect it might have on spirituality and organized religion. Psychedelics don't necessarily destroy one's idea of God as portrayed by any organized religion. I would be hopeful, however, to see people considering for themselves the possibility/probability of there being such a being and holding a magnifying glass up to their beliefs instead of following their previous unquestioned indoctrination.

personally
i have used them all my life for gainful creative technical and artistic purposes.
i have no clue how to transfer my gift for enhancing life except to relax and embrace the moment.
this would be good for dying as well, but it is better for living.

Hasn't happened yet as there have been many illions of trippers all with different reactions and different views. There is no underlying theme despite popular literature.
