so I recently heard about this therapy and 4 people I somewhat know went and did it, and haven't smoked a cig since.
very interesting stuff
heres a link with some info: http://www.freedomlasertherapy.com/faq.htm
I guess its somewhat like acupuncture
anyone know anything else about it or experience?
I think I may do it when I'm really serious about quitting and have money for it. I think its around 300 a session. I think you only need 1-3 sessions though.

I suppose I would probably think the same except for the people I talked to who actually did it.

Haven't smoked a cig...
But are they slapping on patches and chewing the gum?
It's like saying that diet pills really work well, when in fact, it's the dieting and exercise that is required in the 'routine' that does most of the work.

My dad used this laser thing to quit smoking and it worked for him.

Any chance of it working due to placebo effects? Because you've had the therapy you mentally believe that you no longer need/want to smoke?
Just a thought.

I worked with a guy who went to that same clinic. He stopped smoking and bitched at the rest of us who still smoked. I laughed my ass off when he went right back to smoking after just a couple of months.

That seems to be how it worked for my co-worker. He was all excited about it at first, so of course he wasn't going to want to smoke. Then when the excitement wore off, he still wanted to stick with it to justify the money he paid.

after it's done, you'll probably want to silence that part of you that knows you just wasted all that cash on scam therapy... enough that you'll quit smoking so you can believe in it. that's how this therapy works.
