Electronic engineering plus some other engineering stuff. I like some of it but some of it sucks and makes me
I like science stuff and would like to do some sort of science(chemistry or biology based stuff mostly) i think or something to do with how the brain works.
I don't want to keep doing this degree and at the end of it end up hating it.
man...i don't even know what to do...anyone switched majors before? I've dedicated 1.5 years of my life to get onto a university course and it feels shitty to just say "fuck-it" and do something else. Maybe i should just say "fuck-it" and do something else, it sounds fairly easy but feels harder, mostly due to peoples expectations...

In most universities, your first two years are all general science and engineering stuff, so switching from an engineering to science major should be easy and painless.
Still, all education will have boring stuff. When you start building working electronic stuff you could get hooked. That's what happened to me, it's so amazing to start with an idea sketched out on scrap paper, and take it all the way to a working device.
Science is cool though, especially if you get into an earth science field. That way you can't be replaced by a lab-tech. See, most research is now DULL, the lab-techs are instructed what to do and as a scientist, you just interpret the data with a computer all day.
As a soil scientist, for example, you would increase your chances of traveling to far off lands, hiking in jungles to take your samples, because a tech would have no idea what they were looking for. You couldn't get a low-paid person to take cookie-cutter instructions.
As an oceanographer, you would have to dive, plain and simple. You'd spend time interpreting your own data of course, but you'd be the only one qualified to go underwater and gather the data in the first place.

I switched from biology to chemistry.
Theyre pretty simmilar I suppose, but its not uncommon for people to change their major.
So many people whove started in sciences say fuckit and head to business after first or second year.
Do what interests you, man.

college is for people who want to be taught, rather than learn.
there is no degree out there that you couldnt obtain the equivalent knowledge of through books, apprenticeships and real world application. granted, some degrees like post graduate Medical degrees would be unethical to obtain any other way... but you get my point.
If you want to be an EE, then go find someone who is crazy smart and pester them until they let you start sweeping their workspace in exchange for being their shadow. get some books on solid state electronics and work your way up.
I spent about 3 years going to school for audio engineering, then worked with Framptons monitor engineer for about a year, then got a house gig mixing live sound for the last 3 and went on tour with Tanya Tucker as her monitor engineer and worked for tons of various artists... looking back, school did nothing more than give me enough of a vocabulary to bullshit my way into getting my hands on knobs in real world situations... I have (still am) learning as I go. calm seas never made a good captain... you will fuck shit up, feel incompetent, want to quit... but sitting in a classroom only gets you a tenth of the way. take that 10-40k and put that towards living expenses while you work for free... it will be a much better investment.

Stick with engineering.
A science degree will doom you to a life of no pay, or lead you to plenty more years of schooling.
Anything "engineering" will have you employed shortly after graduation.

If you finish with a science degree you will be a "technician", and start about 36k. If you go to graduate school, expect 5 more years to a Ph.D. then another 2-3 of being a post-doc, hence the comment of "many more years of school". After that, yeah, you'll do okay.

I don't know who told you that, but its just not true.
I have a Geology/Geophysics B.S., and I'll my M.S. on Sunday.
I had multiple job offers at 50-60K as soon as I got my FIRST degree.
The only college graduates who don't find jobs are morons who take double majors in Art History/Philosophy.
Get a science degree. Its awesome.

yeah, well it does feel like university is insulting my intelligence and i know i could learn all the stuff by myself and at a much quicker rate than we are doing it. Maybe just because it's my first year.
but what am i supposed to do without a piece of paper to "prove" i can do it. I say "prove" because you can be dumb as shit and still get a degree considering the pass mark is only 40% but if you get over 70% you get a 1st class degree.
There is people in my class that can hardly speak properly and it's like they've had a lobotomy, there's loads of dumb ass high school type people talking about "how wasted they were last night" ALL the fucking time, that's all they talk about.
fucking uninteresting, conforming ,boring dumb-ass pieces of shit only worthy of being added to the rest of the flock of sheep.

I'm curious what type of organization offered you 50-60k?
At all the academic institutions I've worked at, technicians make about 36k.

i've switched a bunch. coming in i had absolutely no idea what i wanted to do. went through my entire freshman year not knowing. then for a bit i considered the business school. UNC's business school is one of the best in the country and it's a pretty applicable degree. then i realized i hated business, and after my first semester i didn't have the grades to get into the business school anyways.
so then i considered nursing. i'd have no problem being a male nurse and it seems like it'd be a rather rewarding career. but again... our nursing school is one of the best and you need like a 3.5 to be a competitive candidate. oh well
so i went to an academic adviser, still somewhat interested in healthcare. he suggested clinical lab science. made it look really fucking appealing and i was sold. for a couple of weeks i was dedicated to working my ass off to make it into that program. needless to say, before too long i was back to my old tricks of not giving a damn and doing shitty. i talked to another adviser about it, and she said my gpa needed a lot of work, not to mention i had no chemistry or biology classes yet and it was the second semester of my sophomore year. so that was no longer feasible.
between sophomore and junior year, i talked to some advisers, got a look at what was a good choice with the classes i had and my gpa, and settled on a UNC specific degree called management & society. it's basically an easy, bullshit degree somewhere between sociology and economics, and basically an equivalent to business administrations. has me taking a bunch of classes like labor force, formal organizations & bureaucracy, social relations in the workplace, etc. the good news is it's rather easy. the bad, i want nothing to do with it in the real world.
so i talk to a friend who is also doing mngt as well, and he tells me it's only like 4 or 5 extra classes to double econ. well, i've already got an econ or two at this point, and if i'm gonna do a major i hate, i might as well do two and come out with two degrees. so i declared econ as my double at the end of my junior year.
so there you have it. two degrees i really don't enjoy simply because i don't know what the fuck i do enjoy. the good thing is that they're rather broadly applicable in the real world; so as long as i move out of state in a couple of years when i hunt for a job where there isn't an over-saturation of UNC grads, it should look rather appealing for any number of jobs.
anything is better than nothing, and a basic assumption of rational economics is that two is better than one.
