So what? The people who choose OTD will do so because they see it as a refuge from censorship.

People who choose this forum will choose it as a refuge from negativity.

The people who choose this already look down on the people who will choose OTD and vice versa. The only thing this does is keep those two groups seperate.

I didn't say anything about it "damaging" OTD, although I do believe it will reduce traffic in that forum pretty substantially.

Why?

What it's doing already is increasing the ratio of idiotic posts to posts of substance...

That ratio has always been cyclical. My guess is that many people will post in both forums; few, if any, will abandon OTD entirely.

...and at the same time lowering the reputation of the members who choose to participate in OTD.

I don't understand how the reputation of members who choose to post in OTD is being lowered... their reputations were forged in OTD in the first place, were they not? Besides, there are many many (perhaps even a numerical majority of) posters whose OTD posts could be lifted wholesale from OTD and plunked down here without causing an eyebrow to raise. Note I use the word "posters", not "posts".

...it certainly is changing OTD and how it's looked upon by the community in a big way.

Which community? The Shroomery community or the online mushroom enthusiast community as a whole?

The purpose for the Chill forum is different than the OTD. Some will prefer one over the other, but many will choose both. I personally like both forums, and I wish I had more time right now to spend in the OTD -- and to just whore it up in general  -- I feel like I'm missing out lately... :crazy:

BUt BOxtop, in a way, isn't that what's it's ALL about? Sort of like Tobaccoo road(by either the swinging blue jeans or Edgar Winter's, white trash), cauz "It's home, the only home i've ever known..............and they call it.............tobaco road!" :wink:
