plastic lids???

so ive been using the plastic lids for a while but i have a concern. i wanted to know what people use to cover the injection hole. i use tape. i just dont trust the lids to me i dont see how even if i was right up against the glass that the lid could cover the hole?
what are your thoughts

do you pressure cook jars with plastic lids?

Um.. Well i'm going to assume your using the pf tec here, You definitly need to cover the whole when you pressure cook or boil the jars, just use tinfoil. Some people cover there holes with tape after innoculation to help fight contams, but if your clean leaving them open is fine and allows you air circulation if you choose to flip them, I just keep my tinfoil that i boil them with (pf tec) and loosly recover. And I'm not shur what your talking about at the end with the glass and stuff?
