Plastic lids

I've looked all over my local hardware stores, and the "Big" K-Mart near where I live, but I can't seem to find any of the plastic canning jar lids people speak so highly of (the kind that survive pressure cooking). Can anyone direct me to a good online seller of these things? I'm not sure if this is really the right forum for this question, but I figured posting somewhere was better than not asking.

I have not heard of any plastic rings. I just used the metal ones that came with the jars. But then again I don't have a pressure cooker so maybe I don't know anything...

Larger grocery stores sell them. (near the spices)

I can't find the plastic lids either.. and I have huge grocery stores/ walmart all around..
BUT I did find these if they're any help.. pricey and not wide mouth size. (@ fungi perfecti)

Autoclavable Lids for Spawn Jars
These one-piece lids are superior to metal canning lids for spawn production in that they will not rust or warp. A 3/8 inch diameter
hole should be drilled or melted through each lid (boiling the lids for a minute or so before drilling will help keep them from
cracking) and a Synthetic Filter Disc inserted underneath to allow contaminant-free air exchange. Color: various.

Hello Daft 420,
I bought my plastic lids from Super Wal-mart. People do a lot of canning around were I live. 8 wide mouth lids for around 4 dollors. I pressure cooked my jars with the metal lids on. When I went to inoculate them I punched the holes in the metal lid. Some lids I had holes already in the lid. I just covered the lids with aluminum foil when I pressure cook the jars. After that I inoculated the jars and placed the plastic lids on the jars. I can loosen the lids to allow air exchange and not worry about taping holes plus keeps the water out. So far this has worked well for me.
