Casing - Substrate layer

I put 10 fully colonized B+ cakes into a 50/50 casing setup.
The tray their in is pretty long and I cut them in half. The problem is that they dont form a complete layer. There just isnt enough. So there is some space inbetween the cakes. I have incubated it for 3 days still no mycelium poping up.
My question is, will this still work or did I fuk it up.

It should work, give it time, let nature do its thing. A big part of this hobby is waiting. I Hope this helps.

It will work, just may take longer to colinize. a lot longer.

How much longer will it take to colonize? And will it lower my yeilds?
