i was wondering if using PDA as a substrate would work and grow mushrooms if there were 2 inocculation points or just a dykariotic strain

how do you know it wont work it grows on it i was planning on puting it in a jar and waiting till it fully colonizes and then take it out or leave it in and put it in a terrium ??
can you explain to me what you know

ok ill explain i want to put some agar in a jar and inocculate it with a dykariotic strain of myc. or just use a spore syringe and hope to get mush out of it do you know if this will work or not

The agar itself doesn't feed the mycelium at all; it's just a suspension medium. The sugars in it are the food source.

Agar is also relatively expensive, so this would be a hilarious waste of both time and money.

It will produce one or two very small mushoooms and thats it.

Leave an agar dish out for a while and you will probably get one or two really sad looking fruits. I would save my agar for better things.
