Propagating mushroom grown in palm tree - Confer Disease Resistance?

Had some extra mycelium laying around (before first flush - started on plain verm/BRF) and put it in my indoor potted palm tree about a month ago.  Well, the palm tree just LOVES it.  It’s sent up 4-5 new shoots and the stems have really greened up.    :thumbup:

After taking forever and forgetting about it, it has finally adapted to soil and started pinning!:smile2: After 4 days – think definitely one (perhaps two) might come out of it.

Would growing in nonsterile conditions confer more disease resistance if the clones from it were grown out in a LC and/or agar?   

So I feel that it is extra special because the majority of them (like 13)  aborted due to (perhaps) too much spray because the house is only like 20% humidity. (i.e. the palm tree is not in a FC).  They just turned black and rotted.  The good one is located closer in towards the plant away from the pot edge.

I feel that this little guy has been through the wringer and would like to preserve/propagate it to see if it really is as special and miraculous as it seems. :hug:

Thanks for any ideas…photo to follow later today (now that there is something to shoot other than a black slimey mess  …. !

I'd say let the shroom grow! Then I'd take a spore print. Think about it , the hearty Palm strain.

If you want to develop it, make a liquid culture out of it.
when you pick it, take a sterile xacto blade or single use scapel if you can find one, i have a quite a few in my first aid kits. Tear the mushroom in half from bottom to cap gently. Quickly take your sterile blade and cut out a small chunk from the inside of the stem up near the cap. Quickly transfer that chunk, without touching it with anything but the blade, into your LC liquid.

That will make sure you have the genes from that single mushroom vs. a multispore spore print.

Holy crap -- I've totally ignored the palm tree.
But there are two pins and one abort in there!

Got to be 30% humidity -- at the very highest.
Second flush ?!!!!!        :crazy2:

Just <some more> waiting to see if any of them make it.
