a few quick questions about humidity

I was wondering if there is a cheap way of determining the exact humidity in my grow chamber? Also whats is a good range of humidity to keep the chamber in? if i'm using perlite is it ok to still use a spray bottle for humidity and if so how much water should i spray at a time?
I was also wondering if anyone knew the best deoderizer to cover up the smell of the shrooms.
I would appreciate it if anyone could answer any of these questions

Hygrometer.

There is no smell from growing mushrooms.(not unless they aren?t contaminated)

Hygrometer is about 30 dollars for a decent one. Do not buy the ones at pet stores or anything....Some may disagree but I've found that it's good to just spend the money up front and not worry that it might not work or only reads to 85% or what ever; some people don't even use a hygrometer with perlite. Just follow a perlite tek. Shrooms do not have a smeel like growing weed.

To correctly measure your humidity you need a Hygrometer. I have 3 digital units and one analog unit.

The digitals seemed OK for a while but over time they got screwed up from too much constant humidity and won?t read properly.

The best advice I got was from Anno when he said to get an analog hygrometer with an adjusting screw (like this) http://www.cigar-cellar.com/credo/humidor/page/p_hygro.htm and calibrate it from this tek http://www.shroomery.org/findorgrowthem/calibrateyourhygrometer.html to be shure it's on.

When I bought my analog hygrometer the storeowner said it had been calibrated on his $300 machine. There were about 7 of the same type hygrometers in his case, all in little zip loc bags reading the same. I bought it, carefully put it in my inside coat pocket (as not to bump it and throw it out of calibration) and took it home to check the calibration using the above-mentioned tek. I found it to be 18% off to the low side.
Point is if your going to buy a hygrometer buy an analog with an adjusting screw and check and adjust it as needed.

LOL!!! Very true.
Last week I got all my grow stuff back from the cops. They took everything about 2 months ago or so. I opened my incubator, and well, I had to turn away~

You said the best range of humidity to keep your grow chamber at....
that just depends on what you wanna do..case or have cakes..
cakes you can have the highest you can reach all the time...
casings require some skill (which I apparently dont have) with the humidity....
caisings: high for pinning around 88% for fruiting.....WORD UP YO!
