2 Quick Questions !

1. I just bought a digital hygrometer and placed it into my terrarium. It has only been in there for about 2 hours and reads 93%. Should I put more water on the perlite or wait overnight to see if the humidity raises.

2. Two of my cakes got dried out when the humidity was very low, now that the humidity is high how long will it take them to get moist again and pin.

1. 93% humidity is just fine. There is such thing as too high humidity which causes a variety of problems. If anything you want high humidity to initalize pinning and then lower it after that.

2. The straw tek is great for refreshing a cake after birth and inbetween flushes and can also be processed through the whole fruiting cycle. You could also try dunking. Dunking is a process in which you sink a cake in water for no less than 24 hours but no more than 48 hours. Read some teks and enjoy life.

You leave your cake dunked 48 hours it will probably be dead. Reread Dunk Tek. 12 hours is about minimum and no more than 24 hours dunked max.

Don?t think so. A technique for storing mushroom cultures keeps small pieces of mycelium alive in destilled water for more then 1 year.

I got it at 95 % with a constant temp of 75f !
