Yes it does lose its vigor. Rather quickly in fact. I believe the 4th or 5th day is the right day if you have all the cool equiptment, eberbach, etc. But if your lowballing without glass shards 7th day is the one.

No this is not a storage technique, so it can't be left in the fridge. I should say it probably could, but it's not the best approach.

I use 20cc syringes with myceium water 10-15cc and than I ad 5-10cc of agar/malt/honey solution I used some that were two weeks old and I guess you can store them quite long that way...
