I cant imagine FnL without Johnny Depp, Thompson hit right on the spot when picked him.
Besides Depp in his youth did a lot of drugs as well. :stoned:

He played a too sexy, too animated Thompson. Terry Giliam even said that Depp was "a hyperrealistic version of Hunter" [behind-the-scenes on the regular DVD]; and I don't like that.

If he was realistic, where's the problem?
And dunno, Depp was like he always is, if you think he was too sexy, ok, lol, thats your opinion, I think he was eccentric as always.. in a good way.

I don't wanna think of Johnny Depp when I watch that movie, I wanna think of Hunter Thompson. I also hated how they gave a whole bunch of famous actors cameos in the film--especially Cameron Diaz and Tobey Mcguire. It took away from the movie and made it seem all Hollywood.

I think depp did great. The only thing this movie is meant to educate you about is what happened in the book which is a collection of real events. Their is no real plot. If you want to see the original adaptation Its called "Where the Buffalo Roam" Starring Bill Murray as Hunter and a lot of Willie Nelson music. Not the same as what you will find in Fear and Loathing, but entertaining. Still manages to give the same feel as F&L. F&L is one of my classic favorites.
