The first step to recovery is posting all about them on The Shroomery so everyone can laugh and so that, through the laughter, it can all be transcended. :smirk:

Believe it or not, that actually used to be my philosophy, thus explaining many of my earlier posts.

Well, I have to agree with MushroomTrip on this one. We are who we are in this moment due to what has transpired already. It is the past, which no longer exists. Thinking in terms of the past will prevent you from choosing to be who you wish to be in the present moment, which inevitably produces who you will be in the future. Dwelling upon your past actions and states brings you to live through them in the present, and isn't that like choosing to engage in that behavior again?

Resolve your conflict with these past moments and transcend them. :yesnod:

We learn more when we do wrong then when we do right. Reflection is only so good as it can be utilized for growth and expansion of regret through learning from it. I think dwelling to a degree is important only so far as it is used to benefit you, cast it aside when it no longer serves a desirable function.

The more you 'fuckup' the more it humanizes you in a way. We're all far from perfect (take that from a perfectionist by nature), and demanding of ourselves, but if not us, then who will be the one demanding it, seeking to better oneself through our own past? Just don't let guilt, regret, and shame overcome you. I've learned to be very deliberate as a result of my past fuckups. For every fuckup you've committed I could equal as could nearly everyone here if we all were to let our gaurd down and make ourselves vulnerable to the outside world without fear and share. Your not alone.

As for the outside world... 'fuck em', you can't please everyone and thats a fact, if you can't justify it to yourself... then no longer commit the actions that are in conflict with them, if you can't do that, well whats the point in living with no ideals, where does that really leave you?

This doesn't apply to all cases. It is not a given that if we do tones of stupid shit we'll get out more enlightened or intelligent. To be quite honest, if we insist in doing only stupid things, chances are we'll end up stupid . Because we create a pattern called self indulgence. And self indulgence comes exactly from thinking that if we do stupid things we'll learn which is a trap since it implies a dose (smaller or larger) of losing our control.

And this is a perfect example of self indulgence.
Not feeling guilt is not the equivalent of self indulgence though they can be easily confused since the line between those two is very thin.
It is good to achieve the wisdom, experience, awareness that we shouldn't feel guilty for our mistakes and it is a bad move to start liking them or encouraging them

On that I agree

 If we learn from it, your right. I should have set a condition on that one.

Self indulgence is separate in nature between what it is to be fucking up, and if its directly attached it all inevitably goes down to is moderation of said indulgence.

Whats so wrong with self indulgence? Forget i asked, this will be turned into a thread about desires before long.

I find that it's best to move on, try to forget, and take comfort in knowing that you have learned and that you won't do such things again.
