It was a mutual choice.
We chose to tame them and they chose to adapt :wink:
As well as some of them chose not to adapt and were rejected or killed by us in the taming process.
With other words, they had the same amount of free will as we did when we had to adapt to other outside factors which influenced our life. It takes two sides for this kind of game. :shrug:

There are lots of things which we didn't know in the past and then we came to an understanding.
You have no evidence to sustain that we will never know. Or if you have please sustain them. We already know a lot (more than we did in the past) about animal consciousness and like I sustained in one of my earlier posts, even if awareness is on different levels, it doesn't mean that it won't keep on developing, like it did until now, on both humans and the rest of the animals.

Yoga, for example, uses the conscious awareness of breath in order for you to become aware that you are more than your body. You gain more control of your body's functions and "hankerings". Restlessness and fear come from the body. Obsessing about the physical form of attractive members of the opposite sex comes from the body's somatic intelligence, not you. I was able to most fully feel my love for my lady when I was tripping on Ayahuasca (she was there at the time). Anyone who's taken the Aya. will truthfully tell you that their sexuality is completely turned off during the experience (not trying to be vulgar or anything, verify this with other projectile vomiters).
Sexuality is the body trying to express what the consciousness feels.(at best)
Love comes from the consciousness. Fear comes from the body.
All decisions are fear or love based.
Love is the transcendental key to evolve past this physical form.

No, last night was pretty mild. That other "stuff". Came from a couple weeks of: prepare drugs, trip, sleep?, wash rinse repeat.

Drugs used: syrian rue potentiated shrooms, Ayahuasca, Aya. analogues, rue potentiated peruvian torch (a cacti), marijuana, freebase D.M.T.(especially while peaking). Near the end of that business my consciousness felt like a 90 lb weakling somehow doing a squat workout with a couple thousand pounds. Actually hit failure during the last freebase exp. and someone "spotted me" w/ negatives. During these two weeks I was also doing energy work, especially Reiki. Coming down from the last trip my friend had to help me walk around because I somehow kept forgetting (?) to breathe. I asked for help and almost immediately lost my stomach contents in the kitchen trash (It was a beautiful projectile arc). I then was connected enough to my body that breathing no longer was "iffy". Anything remotely like that requires a baseline sitter. Even then death is still a possibility.

I've been away from these boards for a while. Since the semester ended, I've been too busy growing mushrooms to sit around talking about growing mushrooms. But it's my day off, it's 12:45 in the afternoon, I'm high, and I haven't even put on pants yet. So here I come again.

The difference between animals and humans is success. There's nothing we can't kill and eat. And before you tell me that that's a human evaluation, if you look closely, it's also what the rest of the ecosystem is trying to do, kill and eat eachother. Herbivores just kill and eat plants. In addition, we're the most successful by our own subjective values, which are pretty good values. At this point, we can live anywhere on our planet's surface, we could probably live sustainably below the surface, and we're inches away from colonizing mars and the moon. We have had a dramatic impact on our environment (to call it a good or bad change would be too subjective). As a species, we picked certain values and pursued them. They aren't the dumbass virtues we hope/think/pray they are, like chairty and kindness and limp dickedness, they are the BADASS VIRTUES OF OLD, like survival, violent problem solving (nothing kills better than us. Let's see hippopotomuses think up the atom bomb), getting food, and making things your bitch. We win! Pat yourselves on the back, y'all.

How can the universe be material if all this neat stuff happened here that's so amazing that we can't reproduce it? Well seriously, give us a a little bit, gotta crawl before you can walk, Dolly wasn't cloned in an afternoon.

This is basically a rehashing of the question "What's so special about life?" from the materialist and the the furitive reply "Well... well....Just...LOOK AT IT! IT'S GOTTA BE SPECIAL!!". This is the "If it's not special, then you do it!" variation.

No, but they have to be read too for four hours a day, or they get lonely. I've been reading them Phillip K. Dick novels, I'm hoping for a pretty serious head trip.

Mostly though, in truth, I'm just an anxious new dad with the fuckers, checking 'em every few hours. It's my first cakes/casings.
