I remember sitting in "sunday school" way back in my pre-teens wondering why these people thought they were speaking the truth when they were simply repeating shit that old-timers had told THEM.. I realized it was possibly that people HADN'T questioned it in the past which had allowed christianity to get so large and so "powerful." Its "you want answers? go with God!" attitude has always turned me off, because it takes the cosmic spotlight off of me and puts it on "God."

Neither of my parents ever really discussed religion with me until I was older. I think it was a decision on their part not to enforce any beliefs upon me.
I remember long ago, believing in god, when I was pretty little, I had strongly christian friends and I think what they spoke about influenced me. I couldn't have been older than 5 before I wasn't sure if there was a god or not.

Very interesting...
I knew I was very different from the time i was 6. I used to lie in bed after waking up, wondering if I was in another place, perhaps heaven and this life was all a dream. I remember hoping someone would wake me and I would be in paradise.
I agree that this was definately a hint of our future use of hallucinogens.
It's been 4 years since I've tripped. I'm looking forward to that within the next several weeks. I feel like living in this crazy world hardens my heart. Mushrooms and cannabis seem to have a healing effect on me and remind me to love and care for others.

When did you first question Christianity?
I don't know for sure. I always had doubts about it ever since I can remember... as to when those doubts morphed into serious questions, I really can't pinpoint it.
I abandoned my church before I abandoned Christianity (I became Kierkegaard before I knew of him). That happened before seventh grade (that's when I started confirmation), so I was probably about 11 or 12. I was more Christian than everyone around me who "shared" my faith. It took several more years for me to realize and overcome my spiritual insecurities. Acid helped.

I was perhaps 6 or 7.... I had asked my parents to start taking me to church *raised under the influence of many different culture's, but not forced into any traditions or religious affiliations* A few weeks after attending, i questioned what was being told in my Sunday school class and was promptly kicked out.
Same with in school...
The *system* sure likes to hold us smart ones down.
