in need of bulk substrate/compost, any suggestions

Taking into account the current situation, it looks like i might not be getting my bluethumbs compost in time. anyone have any suggestions on an alternative source of a comparable product I'd be able to order that isn't too expensive?

If not, I'm open to suggestions on alternative bulk substrates. I'll be spawning a 3cu. ft. case with anywhere from 2-4 qts of rye. strain is a voracious PES-Hawaiian obtained from ralphster.

lastly, are there any other sources selling small quantities (3-6oz.) of Spawn Mate/Promycel/Mushroom fertilizer? anyone had any experience with this stuff?

umm wheat straw is only 4 or 5 bucks a bail and poo poo is usually free if you go ask a rancher for it.

You may not have access to it I know...

Dung works awesome as a substrate though....for spawn why dont you just colonize some grain?

kinda hesitant to start working with poo/dung. would the process be the same as working with compost? i get the impression that compost would offer more nutrients and controlled composition (pH/N levels etc) if made correctly.

is one dung source just as good as the next? as it stands, price/expedience from a vendor will decide which vendor i order from, any suggestions?

from what i can gather, a 75/25 straw/dung mix is ideal. any comments?

...must...find...spawn mate.......ugh

you just put the poo or poo/straw in a pillowcase and pasteurize it then let it drain REAL FREAKIN GOOD. then spawn it and put in bins....bam...mega shroomies...follow roakills horse poo tek to a tee....way cheaper and works better than compost imo.

what the hell is spawn mate and why the hell do you need it....just spawn the poo with rey and kaching.

sorry if i seem blunt i just know it works awesome!!!
