 Bulk substrates sterilized in oven?

I have read almost all the FAQ's I can get my hands on, but I have a question:
Can I sterilize bulk substrates such as corn, WBS, and Straw in my oven?

Corn, WBS ...... is not a bulk substrate (generally -- those are considered spawn). Straw could be considered that, except IMHO.... it is a flash in the pan, one flush wonder.
A "bulk substrate" is usually a dung/straw combo......... or compost.
I pasteurize moist bulk substrate (compost) in an autoclave bag in the oven, all the time.
You could turn up the heat & kill everything in it. If you want? But, if it was not kept moist. You would end up with pretty hard baked shitzzzzzz.

isn't it also possible to soak your compost in a pan in the oven instead of using the autoclave bag?

Turkey roasting pans, big ass pot w/tight lids & whatever else you might have.......................works. An oven is not a PC, bear that in mind.

If it can be used as spawn and produce 4 or so flushes from a cake, could it not be used as a bulk substrate as well?
