Some foreign contaminates might show up in your substrate jars from time to time, but if it is overrun and destroyed by your mycelium it is alright to consume the fruits it bears. There was another topic in here a couple months ago that dealt with the same subject. If a foreign mold is poisoness to you, it will also be poisoness to the mycelium and not allow shrooms to be produced.

But let's say that you have a casing, thats already pinning, and then you start to see some contams? are those shrooms good to eat or not?

Thanks Shroom Wizard!!! That is something I have always wondered. My policy has been if it's not on the shroom...no worries. But in the back of my mind...I have always had concern over it.

Shroomies grow out of cowshit right? But you can eat the shrooms with no prob even tho
eating the cowshit would make you sick. Eat 'em. I have eaten shrooms growing out
of moldy casings with no ill effects.

You couldn't believe how many different foreign contaminates grow in the same cow turd as the P. Cubensis and I have never gotten sick from eating the ones I've picked.
