well from what I have read several times it sounds like your terrarium is to cold at 60-65 degrees. It should be in the higher 70's to lower 80's. I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure that is what it is.------------------ Why is it that we kill people who kill people to show people that killing people is wrong?

I wish I could- but my trusty cooler sustained too much abuse over the years if you know what I mean and is now inoperable. All the coolers around here these days hold about a sixpack of beer and thats it..and they are out of season.

I second herb on that thought - I would bet that the temperature is too low. Try putting something under the terrarium, e.g. a heating cable for terraria with reptiles --> works very well for me. Or it could also be that your cakes are nearly dried up and just need a humidity bost (setting the cakes on wet perlite for a few days). Hope this helps.

man, your set ups cool, but.....60F to 65F is the problem......you just have to get it up the mid to upper 70s and they will be fine mine are at 72F and fruiting nicely....

It's the temperature for sure. Same thing happened to a close friend of mine. Since his house is cold and drafty this time of year and heating implements are difficult to set up and maintain, he'll resume where he left off this Spring.

Okay first of all Azure we need more info. Is this "slow grow" occuring on the first flush of your cakes? Are your cakes cased with anything? Later flushes are usualy slower in my experience. And if your cakes are cased with vermiculite or soil then I would suggest misting the casing layer because you could have some dehydrated cakes. Now, it would obviously help to raise the temp. on your set up. But it is most important that your cakes are receiving the water they need. No water, no shrooms, little water, stunted growth. ------------------ Trying to rationalize with an irrational person, is in itself irrational!
