Cocaine and meth are less illegal than weed in the US?

According to all the sources I can find, meth and cocaine are Schedule II and weed is Schedule I. Is this just a technicality, or are you actually likely to get in more serious legal trouble for weed than you are for meth and coke?

So the scheduling system has nothing to do with prison terms and the like? I thought the Class system in the UK was based a lot more closely on the American system than it is, then. I thought it was pretty much impossible that it was the case that weed was considered worse, I just had to check.

Right state laws differ but in Cali I think theres more chronic which means higher street and resale value, Texas moves so many bricks of Mexi through weed is not really an issue. Our pounds are about 350$. I had a friend get pulled over on prom with an ounce and the cop poured the bag out and made em grind it in the street, then said he hoped they had a good night and learned something.
My experience is if I get pulled over with less than a half ounce if I just tell the cop up front and give it to him 75% odds are he'll let me off cause I didnt call him a faggot or give him a hard time, probably a speeding ticket or p.o.p

In my experience it's the majority that 1oz is limit for a misdameanor.

But the reason that meth is a schedule 2 is because there is a drug called Desoxyn that is a methamphetamine. The system is way fucked up here.

Well, technically they are schedule II, which means that our government acknowledges their medical use. Schedule I drugs have no medical use in the eye of the government, such as cannabis. Doesn't make sense to me either.

The assholes usually count the bag weight as well, so i usually travel with 4grams less then an Oz. if i need to carry that much.

The only reason why cocaine and methamphetamine (as well as amphetamines) are a Schedule II substance is because they have been deemed to have a significant accepted medical use. Cocaine is used in eye surgery as well as a local anestethic for stuff like setting a broken nose. Meth(amphetamines) are used for treatment of ADHD, Narcolepsy, Fatigue syndrome and sometimes severe depression.

Just because it has an accepted medical use doesn't mean that illicit posession of the substance won't result in a felony. Hell, even posession of Adderall, Dexedrine, or Desoxyn (prescription forms of amphetamine and methamphetamine) can earn you a felony in many states.

It's just a difference between having accepted medical use and not. Unfortunately the DEA still thinks that cannabis does not have any beneficial medical use, which we all know is complete bullshit.

It is and I know people that are prescribed it. Desoxyn and Methedrine (older prescription).

Keep in mind that under medical use people aren't smoking or injecting meth, so it's roughly 50% more potent and lasts about twice as long as a comparable dose of dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine). Also it's supposed to have a cleaner comedown than even Dexedrine.

Although I'm sure that in recreational doses, it's very comparable to ingested street methamphetamine, in medicinal doses it's nowhere near as crazy.
