Mushrooms contain about 92% water.
When you dry them (in the dark, with a fan or something else which doesn't use heat) they don't lose very much potency at all. Not for you to notice anyways.
You can say 10 wet grams is 1 dry gram.

Remember the 92%, that 2% is a killer. :smile:

I got a rude surprise after downing 20 wet grams of PF shrooms, then later on figuring I'd like a 50% higher dose and I downed 3 dry grams. It was like a 100% increase in potency where I'd expected 50%. The decline of potency after drying is vastly overrated. If you dry the shrooms carefully and they aren't terribly old, they'll give you a trip that's "just like new". :smile:

Hey, I'm wondering if anyone has ever just picked some fresh flush and frozen it? I just harvested a few off a cake today, put in a ziplock, sucked out the air, and placed it in my freezer. I'm planning on putting them in my breakfast shake on Monday, so, if anyone's interested, I'll let you know. . . .

GOODY GOODY . . . how I do love experimenting in the name of science! My Ohaus scale says 18.2 grams (wet). I've already noticed that the stalks have turned smurf blue. . . I'll keep you all posted!

BTW,Gorgeous Tortoise, did the pressure cooker situation end up working out for you?

Yep- I bought the cheapest cooker I could find and it's instructions were not very detailed at all. In short, filling the water to 1/2 way up the jars was way too much... 1.5" in the bottom works excellent.

I knew it was something simple like that. Just can't figure out why nobody here gave me the heads up on that. ??
