wet to dry wet, my ratios are off....

there were some mushrooms, equadors.....

after drying them to cracker dry, the ratios are off from what everyone else has, which is 10:1

well, the ratios i've seen are 6:1, 7:1 and 8:1.

why is this? the equadors are grown PF TEK style, rH 95%+, temps around 74 F to 79 F.

I am pretty sure all are dried to cracker dryness, they crack in half like a craker when I snap them apart...

maybe you need to cal your scale, tho if you were expecting the ratios to be EXCATLY the same then i understand why you feel this way.

Your ratio isn't always going to be the same as other people's. Obviously, the drier they are the less they are going to weigh. How big were they when you picked them? And remember, mushrooms lose their potency when dried, but I'm sure you already know that.

sizes were about 3-5 inches, but were grown to full maturity for printing purposes. quite a few, not all though were grown to maturity.

yes I do know that drying decrease potency.

my scale is pretty good, got from a school science lab and is .01 precise

but, all mushes cracked when snapped.

What?! Mushies loss of potency when dried is neglegible when not using heat. What are you trippin on?

fan dry or dessicant dry your mushies to cracker dry and u will lose barely any potency. none that you would notice.

yes, but there is a bit of loss of potency, due to many factors. Non-seasonal trippers probably would know the difference.

but crap due to the variation in wet:dry ratio dosing can't be done when wet in my scenario...

Is Silica Gel a good dessicant? I am acquiring 8 lbs of the stuff.
