hidden files?

well my lady and i want to see what her son is up to. we are both computer illiterate to a degree. her son is 16, and spends around 8 hrs a day on the computer. her concern is she just wonders why he is so secretive. mine is what if he does something illegal on our computer and brings heat my way. i just want to locate his hidden files, and anything else i should be looking for that i dont know? dont worry i will keep you guys updated on what i find. hopefully something intresting as im bored right now. if you guys could tell me what to look for and how it would be greatly appreciated.

ok obviously none of you are parents. im not worried about him visiting sites. i just dont want him doing anything illegal online that could draw attention to me. how do i search for that? i remeber one of my friends in college had the fbi come to his parents house over something stupid his little brothe did.

no its just we got "big brother" monitoring everyones moves dictating everything....my personal opinion we don't need parents mocking it.

he seems pretty laid back about everything but the net...

you either trust your son or you don't....simple as that.

he could just as easy rape a girl, steal, kill, drugs, gambling, ect ect which would lead to the same dam thing. and what do you do about them things??? you TRUST HIM.

If you don't TRUST HIM, then you need to have a talk with him and feel him out....and don't do all the talking either you need to let him talk and tell you how he feels about things not hear your opinion on it.

for example asking him questions like, "what do you do when you see a link to kiddy porn?", "How do you feel about kiddy porn?", "What have you learned on erowid lately son??----Oh nothing dad just learned out to synthsis a new date rape drug thats all"
