YEAH, DON'T MESS WITH THEM. JUST LEAVE THEM IN A DARK PLACE FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS WITHOUT DISTURBING THEM. ALSO, KEEP THE TEMP AT ABOUT 80 DEGREES.

I always use "whole rice" as substrate..
I find that it colonizes easier and more rapidly than vermiculite/rice flour..
Its also very easy to make and gives alot better yields than V/RF...

Just be sure to make the rice fluffy (kinda dry) and not damp or soggy...

The "whole rice tek" is known as the "9er tek" and can be found at www.shroomery.org/9er/
In this tek they case it but you can go with "only cakes" if you want to..

I think its the best and easiest kind of substrate to use..
(The only hard thing about it is to give the rice the proper boiling...take a little less water than in the recipe for eating the rice..)
