Joshua Tree ... camping trip tomorrow ... anybody been?

tomorrow a friend and I are going up to Joshua Tree ... we plan on utilizing lysergic substances, amongst others, in our quest for peace and understanding ...

anybody have any recommendations on where to go, or any random tips worth noting about the area in general? I have never been, but do know that it is a PRIME area to look at the stars ... consequently, we'll probably dose the medicinals between 12 and 2 am anyway, so we'll have until sunrise and a little beyond to explore around ... unless we decide to do it at sunrise, which could be pretty epic, as well ...

You're gonna love it. Wow. Lsyerg...I'm jealous. That area is beautiful, the vast open freedom is superb.

The cacti are awesome, too.

Make sure you take some time and scout some cool rocks. That's a hotspot for meteors and precious rocks(Opal, etc).

Watch for snakes and scorpions.

Don't walk around too much when you start peaking. There are mine shafts that drop 1000' and you can't see them until you almost step into one.

Guy I know was friends with someone that went down one a couple years ago. 100% of the time it's fatal. Be careful.

Sorry I can't give you specifics because we were closer to Death Valley ourselves. But we went through that part, and it's all pretty much the same.

Have fun. And it's ok to save a little to take home, for a "reflection trip" later.

haha truly. i will watch out for those mine shafts with very, very wide eyes, if you know what I mean ... =)

I actually only have one tab (of good/high-quality lysergic) to split with my friend, who has two tabs of known good mdma to add to the mix ... none to save for a reflection trip later, unfortunately, but a good mid-weekend business trip nonetheless ...

I don't know my way around the area, but I'm familiar with it since I've spent time there on camping/rock-climbing trips.

It's a fucking blast just to go boulder-hiking, though. Climb up on one of the non-hazardous hills (I stress non-hazardous, you hurt yourself even when you're careful while climbing many of those mounds) and find a place to sit.

If you make your way up to the top of one of those rocky crags the view is just brilliant, looking up at the sky and then down across all of the wilderness that you can see from up high. I remember I found a natural hollow in the side of one mound that was shaped just like a lawn chair had been hollowed into a boulder, it was great just sitting there in the shade and looking across the scenery.
