Im sure there are people that have lived for years with blurry vision through over 50 years of alcoholism. :lol: I am sure someone has gone way over 14 years suffering from blurry vison.
But contacts sure does make a difference,I want to get contacts sometime in the near future.

I always just put my contacts in no matter if I'm clean or not. If I can't see anything on my fingertips then it's straight. I've had contacts for 7 years and never had any infections before.

How many of you can put them in without a mirror? I always do and people that even wear contacts say I'm crazy or something. So, I'm curious. How many contact wearers can actually put them in (easily) without a mirror?

Waiting did your eyes some serious damage. Good thing you finally did the sensible thing and got some contacts. I'm wearing cheap 20$ reading glasses as I wait for my next set of contacts to arrive in the mail.

yay eyes, yay contacts. i first got glasses in 8th grade... i was so embarrassed of them i literally tried to wear them in secret in class. I would carry them around in my pocket, then as "stealthily" as possible put them on just long enough to write down what was on the board, then hide them again. Contacts a few years later left me feeling liberated and able to see better.. good stuff. congrats on your revelation

and scyins.. i still need a mirror to put them in w/ ease

I can relate...somewhat.

I can relate on the part that it's been 15 years with blurry vision/bad eyes. I can't relate to seeing it the way you do now.

My family is all horrible when it comes to sight. when I was 8, I had a visit with the eye doctor who said my vision was moderately bad, but possibly fixable...when I was 8! Shitty luck. Well, they gave me glasses, but I never wore them. I'm now 23...and I've gotten very used to the fact of squinting all the time throughout my life.

I'm wondering how it might be to get some glasses finally

hehe i know what your talking about 40, the day i got my first pair of glasses i will never forget.

the second i walked out of there and looked up the street i was like
OMG I DIDNT SEE ALL OF THIS FOR SO LONG !??! heh, i know i wont forget that.

besides that, whats the big deal about glasses, ill never understand.

Definetly.

I had horrendous eyes for 15 years. I had thick glasses and eventually switched to contacts. I was completely dependent on some type of vision correction (glasses/contacts).

I got lasik and now I see 20/15. Better than normal vision.

doesn't LASIK cause your eyes to take an absolute shit after, like, a decade though

cause from what I've heard - you have to keep going back and have em rezapped every twenty years or so

I can put my contacts in without a mirror, but it freaks all my friends out too. It's really not that hard once you practice it a few times, but you have to not be squeamish about putting your finger near your eye.

During the lasik procedure, there is a physical change to the inner lens of the eye.

The eye is dynamic, and has the potential to undergo changes. However, for the vast majority of people, their vision will reach a "stopping point" where they will not have any change in vision. If you get the Lasik procedure done at this point, you will never need it again. In my case, my prescription had not changed in something like 5-6 years, so it is doubtful my eye will change and I will need the procedure performed again.

Lasik doesn't eliminate the need for reading glasses as someone ages however.
