I had it done last spring. Best decision I ever made. RandalFlagg outlined some of the finer points already, so I won't bother with that. All I can say is that I highly recommend it.

Can you explain more about after the operation? I've also been interested in Lasik (slightly nearsighted but getting worse). My question is if it would be better to do it now at 20, or wait until my vision gets worse. If you notice a degradation, then I might wait. What are your thoughts?

I'm doing it the day I turn 21. I had already decided to and this thread just makes me want it even more.
ALL eye maintenance is such a hassle. It's gonna be soo nice to not have to do it anymore. Damn, I can't wait... one more year.

I hear it is better to wait until you are around 25-30. I mean since your eyes will continue to degrade, at least that is how I understand it.

Lasik/Laser Eye Surgery is a bunch of bullshit. Anyone here considering it, I would advise you not to. It's a COMPLETE waste of money. It may be better later on in the future but right now, bad choice. My cousin got it done, and yeah it made his eyes great for about 3 months. Then they slowly got worse and worse. Now they are worse then they ever were before. Stick with glasses or contacts.

Lasik has a good track record with long-lasting results. I was about -4.00 in each eye.
A year later I'm 15/20, better than normal vision. There are tons of clinical data to support Lasik.

I had a buddy do it.. I'm no longer in contact with him but after he had it done he went skiing..
All the light ended up kinda fucking his eyes up a little bit... I don't think it was permanent but it wasn't good.
